This session explores common themes and elements in rulemaking for privacy at the the federal and state levels. It focuses on the FTC’s rulemaking process as well as similar state activities, and, in particular, the rulemaking by the new California Privacy Protection Agency. There are important ongoing developments at both levels, and we will discuss the import of these likely critical developments for compliance efforts by companies.
