With the new administration and significant changes in focus, priorities, privacy enforcement, agencies and staff levels, there is much uncertainty and confusion around how to manage privacy compliance and where the privacy risks lie.  We will discuss the current health data privacy landscape at both the federal and state level, the focus of the administration and State AGs, and ways to mitigate risk and future-proof privacy compliance in these uncertain times.  This includes mitigation strategies around the use of health data to train AI models, the use of AI in health care and research, transfers of data to China and other countries of concern, web tracking, and state law challenges.
