Kirk Nahra, Deven McGraw
The health care privacy regime presents a complicated set of questions about balancing privacy interests with other consumer interests and the operation of the health care system, and the long history of the HIPAA rules provides an enormous range of lessons for the future of privacy law. This session will address the particular experience of health care privacy, and what has been learned from the HIPAA era. We will then discuss how this experience can be adapted and applied in the debate over a national privacy law.
