This workshop will cover new, little-known state law quirks concerning de-identified and pseudonymized data, such as a ban on re-identifying de-identified health data, and requirements re: updates to privacy policies and contracts and oversight over recipients of the data. In the technical and statistical realm, we’ll cover new developments and challenges like tokenized linking of multi-party data sets (and related business and legal friction), homomorphic encryption, and synthetic data.
